Who would have thought that Bro Science would be appropriately abbreviated BS?

Who would have thought that Bro Science would be appropriately abbreviated BS?

This text will surely rustle some feathers to begin with, but I assure you that at the end of this mini article, even the most patriotic in the bro community will come to appreciate what it means to require a scientific gauge in order for a ruling to be absolute.

“This tren is lighter than the last batch bro its underdosed.”

“Not as full as my last cycle on these dbol. I’m always moody as hell on the dee bangers but not feeling like punching out my boss yet and I’m already 7 days in. Only 1 kg up. For sure fakes or something else in it boys.”

We see comments like these daily on the forums and although even myself does like to think he is an expert at subjectively “feeling” his way through what steroid and dose of what is which; the fact is that this is a ridiculous way of analysing because of the forever changing variables involved in such an outcome.

“What on earth could these variables be? I’ve been in the game for almost 15 years. I know what 600 mg of tren, 400 mg of masteron and 1000 mg of sus feels like!”

Well, a lot can change from cycle to cycle actually. How is your relationship at the moment? How is your diet at the moment? How is your training compared to last cycle? Do you need to change your training and your diet now that you’re more developed? Do you need more drugs now? Do you need to get rid of negative people in your life? Are you sleeping as well? Could your increased weight be causing some sleep obstruction and maybe that is the cause of your fatigue? Question after question could be used as a potential variable from this cycle to your last cycle that has created a different environment and therefore there is no control to accurately determine the type, quantity and quality of your underground steroids or PEDs through how you “feel.”

Yet, despite this rationalisation people will still choose opinions over statistics. I mean heck, I still do it too in many areas of my life today. When I’m thinking of eating at a new restaurant, what is the first thing I do to gauge my decision on whether to eat there or not? I look at the reviews online of course. But how do I know those good reviews were not just written up by the restaurant owner himself? And how do I know those bad reviews were not just written up by the restaurant owners competition or not? It is kind of a poor way to make a decision, but it is the best gauge we may have at the time, so we run with it! And boom, sales psychology prevails.

“Sales is a game of perception, not a game of products.”

Even if everyone in the underground steroid market finished this article, the vast majority will still be making a buyer’s choice based on whoever is promoting the product. If Big 260 pounds ripped Johnno at the gym is taking it, it has to be good! In a way, this way of using surrogation to make a decision does have its merits, but among them many faults too. We don’t know if Big Johnno is lying to start off with. So, if we can’t feel our way through it and if Big Johnno is just trying to make a sale, then how do we gauge whether or not our product is legit? Now I am sure home test kits for PED’s will get better as the popularity for these drugs grow but until then, most of them can only accurately test for presence, but not exact dose or other contaminants. The most common way to accurately know what and how much of what is in your product is to have a sample privately tested in a lab with what is known as a HPLC analysis. This will take some time, money and you’d hope your sample does not get intercepted when you mail it. Not the most convenient solution at all. Hmm?

In the world of science, placebo is a word used on the daily. What is placebo? dictionary.com provides us with the following definition of the word placebo:

noun, plural placebos, placeboes.

1.
Medicine/Medical, Pharmacology.
a a substance having no pharmacological effect but given merely to satisfy a patient who supposes it to be a medicine.

b a substance having no pharmacological effect but administered as a control in testing experimentally or clinically the efficacy of a biologically active preparation.

Those definitions help the intermediate, but I’m going to add my own definition for the layman to better understand the word placebo:

c a substance that could trick your brain into feeling something that you would not feel if you did not know you were taking it.

There is also a term called nocebo which is the opposite to placebo in a sense whereby a subject experiences more of the negative side effects of a drug simply because they’re expecting to feel those negative side effects.

So, we now know there are countless variables involved when it comes to knowing if a product is legit or not by “feeling it” or “hearing about it.” And, unless we use a very inconvenient and
expensive process of testing a product with a HPLC analysis that could further increase our chances of the law catching up to us there is no easy way to the truth here. I can then see why
everyone is asking Big Johnno for the good stuff as dumb as it is in retrospect.

“So what do we do then Ace with all the answers then huh?”

Well I’m a total obsessive compulsive so I would be testing (which I do) everything with the HPLC analysis but if that was not an option, I guess I would just take the good word of a close friend who has safely used the product with success. However, one thing is for sure and that is that unless I had HPLC analysis that I personally oversaw, I would not be slandering or positively reinforcing a product as “100% legit bro,” or not, because that is [B]ro [S]cience. I hope this text helps you all make better decisions for your next cycle and also helps you understand that sometimes it is not a case of the products at all, but instead a case of yourself.
