Dianabol does not increase estradiol levels. Say what?
Although it is true Dianabol does not increase estradiol levels, the title was a little misleading for the layman reader (sometimes my boring science tone needs a little click bait to draw in a reader or two). Dianabol (Metandienone, also known as methandienone or methandrostenolone) does not aromatise to increase levels of estradiol, instead into the estrogen methylestradiol (17α-methylestradiol). It is thought that for this reason, the estrogenic side effects of Dianabol can often be more challenging to control than with the estrogenic side effects associated with testosterone use. It is often reported that people are particularly sensitive to gynecomastia (bitch tits) with Dianabol, where conversely, they may not be sensitive with even the highest doses of testosterone. Thousands of anecdote over the years suggests there may be some truth to this theory. In light of the anecdote, consider that you may need a different type and/or dose of aromatise inhibitor if you are experiencing adverse effects with Dianabol thought to be caused by excess estrogen. Subjectively speaking, there could be many of these side effects. Objectively speaking, definitely recent onset of gynecomastia. The other consideration with methylestradiol is that to my knowledge, our lab assays in Australia for estradiol will not accurately detect methylestradiol. If I am wrong, someone correct me. So blood work may be worthless to determine the right aromatise inhibitor dose for your Dianabol cycle. It all may sound a little worrisome, but it is not. As always, use as little aromatise inhibitor as you need and do not underestimate the power of trial and error. Low estrogen is worse than high, absolutley. It appears there is less gyno than there was in the early 2000’s, so most of you are doing something right. Until next time.
